Disney’s ‘Tangled’ Teaser Trailer

Check out the teaser trailer from Disney’s 50th animated feature, Tangled, an adaptation of the Rapunzel fairy tale.
On November 24th, Disney Animation will release its 50th animated feature, Tangled. The film is a loose adaptation of the famous Rapunzel fairy tale. The animated film features the voices of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Chuck’s Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider.
The tale, originally written by the Brothers Grimm, has been slightly tweaked by Disney. The new version follows a bandit (Levi) who stumbles upon a tower housing the beautiful Rapunzel (Moore). The two embark on a romantic action-comedy adventure across a mysterious landscape full of ridiculous creatures and deadly turns.
Co-directed by Byron Howard (Bolt) and Nathan Greno, the Tangled is a milestone for one of the pioneers in animation. While the best work from Disney shines through their relationship with Pixar, this film should still capture the wonder of a truly beloved fairy tale.
The teaser trailer only reveals the plot, but also gives a taste of the voice work from Moore and Levi. They sound a bit distant in age, but it may play nicely given the story. Moore is famous for her singing voice, but the musical segments will give us a first listen at Levi’s vocal talents.

Betty White, Marc Cherry, Mandy Moore and More Thank Rue McClanahan for Being a Friend

TV icon Rue McClanahan sadly succumbed to a massive stroke this morning, but she leaves in her wake laughs, love and a legacy most actors can only dream of.
“Rue was a close and dear friend,” sole surviving Golden Girl Betty White said in a statement today.
“I treasured our relationship. It hurts more than I ever thought it would, if that’s even possible.”
McClanahan’s Sordid Lives costar Jason Dottley set up an official Facebook memorial page for the actress this morning “at the request of Rue McClanahan’s family.”
“Rest in peace my dear dear Rue :( ” he tweeted.
Marc Cherry, the Desperate Housewives creator who launched his career in the Golden Girls writers room, also released a statement on McClanahan’s death.
“When I worked on The Golden Girls, my favorite character to write for was Blanche Devereaux,” he said. “In the hands of lesser actresses, Blanche’s vanity and sexual appetite would have been off-putting. But in Rue’s brilliant hands, that character became one of the most beloved in the history of TV.
“Rue’s kindness, generosity and enormous talent will be sorely missed.”
But they weren’t the only stars paying public tribute to McClanahan.

• Mandy Moore: “RIP rue mcclanahan. sending love and prayers to her loved ones…..”

Dermot Mulroney finalizes ‘Love’ cast

Dermot Mulroney is moving forward with his directorial debut, “Love, Wedding, Marriage,” lining up Mandy Moore, Kellan Lutz, James Brolin and Jane Seymour to star in the romantic comedy.

The movie has seen financing come and go and return again, and the cast has gone through Tetris-style combinations with names including Jessica Alba, Christopher Walken and Blythe Danner circling.

Financing is being finalized, but the movie produced by Michelle Chydzik is slated to go before cameras April 19 in Louisiana. Nathalie Marciano is executive producing the picture, whose title might change to “Keep It Together.”

The story centers on a newlywed marriage counselor (Moore) who is thrown for a loop when she learns that her parents, whose marriage she’s always idealized, are headed for divorce. She sets out on a disastrous path to save their marriage at the expense of her own, manipulating loved ones to achieve her objectives.

Lutz will play her husband; Brolin and Seymour will play the parents.

For Moore, the movie is her first since starring in the 2007 comedies “Because I Said So” and “License to Wed.” She is repped by UTA and Storefront Pictures.

Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the “Twilight” movies, recently boarded the fantasy epic “Immortals,” formerly known as “War of the Gods,” in which he will play sea god Poseidon. He is repped by Innovative.

Brolin, repped by ICM, appears in David O. Russell’s upcoming “Nailed.”

Seymour’s latest film, “The Assistants,” won the audience award during the weekend at the Vail Film Festival, where the Innovative-repped actress received the Reva Award for achievement in acting.

Disney Changes Rapunzel Title to Tangled

Producer Roy Conli announced today, via the Walt Disney Animation Studios Facebook page, that the upcoming Rapunzel film is now entitled Tangled. Here is Conli’s full announcement below.

Hey everyone, I’m Roy Conli, producer of Disney’s next animated film. I have some exciting news to share, and it was important to me that YOU guys – the Disney fans – hear it first. I want to tell you about Walt Disney Animation Studio’s 2010 release, Tangled. It’s a really fresh, smart take on the Rapunzel story. In our film, the infamous bandit Flynn Rider meets his match in the girl with the 70 feet of magical golden hair. We’re having a lot of fun pairing Flynn, who’s seen it all, with Rapunzel, who’s been locked away in a tower for 18 years. I’m so proud of the crew working on this film – they’re doing a fantastic job creating an awesome story with great characters and a stunning world – and it’s all going to look amazing in 3D. All of us here at the studio are incredibly excited for you to see Tangled when it comes out in theaters this November.”

Tangled features the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Dan Fogler, Kristin Chenoweth, Reese Witherspoon, Donna Murphy and will let its hair down in theaters on November 24.

Kellan Lutz Marries Mandy Moore In ‘First Love, Then Marriage’

He may have lost the role of Conan the Barbarian to “Stargate Atlantis” actor Jason Momoa, but “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz has muscled his way into a new role in the romantic comedy “First Love, Then Marriage.”

According to JustJared.com, Kellan will play Mandy Moore’s husband in the rom-com, which also reportedly stars Blythe Danner (a.k.a. Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom) and Christopher Walken. The film centers around Mandy’s marriage counselor character, who after finding out her parents have separated, does all she can to bring them back together, to the detriment of her own new marriage.

The film is being directed by Dermot Mulroney, a man who knows a thing or two about romantic comedies having starred in the Julia Roberts-favorite “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”

This role marks Kellan’s first foray into the genre, so we’re curious to see how he fares. He’s stated on several occasions that he wants to be the next big action star, but a role like this is no doubt a great way to diversify his resume. Mandy, on the other hand, isn’t straying too far from her comfort zone having already played a newlywed in “License to Wed” and in real-life, marrying musician Ryan Adams in the spring of 2009.

Shape Magazine – January 2010

Mandy is on the cover of the January 2010 issue of Shape magazine! Here’s the article from Shape.com
This past year was a big one for Mandy Moore: Not only did she get married, she also released her sixth CD and made a romantic comedy. The New Year promises to be even busier for Mandy, 25!
The problem, she says, is that when she’s consumed by her career, she tends to let her health—and even her happiness—fall by the wayside. “I need to be more consistent about taking care of myself no matter how busy I am.”
To accomplish that, she’s come up with a to-do list of changes she’d like to make in 2010 that will help her feel stronger inside and out.

Hit the farmers’ market every week
“I’m going through a phase where I’m kind of bored with food,” says Mandy. “I’m just tired of relying on takeout and restaurants.” To spice things up, Mandy and Ryan want to start eating at home more often. “Ryan is an amazing cook, and there’s a farmers’ market about a mile from our house,” she says. “I love the idea of getting up early on Sundays and walking to the market to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s a good way to start my day, and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something before other people are even awake.”

Actually use my home exercise equipment
For the last year, Mandy has been splitting her workouts between three 45-minute Pilates classes and three 45-minute hikes per week. “I’ve always had bad posture, and Pilates makes me feel taller and reminds me to keep my shoulders back,” she says. “And hiking isn’t just about doing cardio, it’s also when I can get my ‘me time’ to be alone with my thoughts.” This year she’d like to pump up her routines for a more balanced workout each time. “After Pilates I should do some cardio, and after hiking, I need to do some resistance training,” she says. “I have all the equipment in my house, and it’s just collecting dust. So after I get home from Pilates, I’m going to jump on my mini trampoline for 15 minutes. And after a hike, I’ll do some weight lifting or get down on my mat and do a set or two of crunches.”

Step outside my comfort zone
One of Mandy’s most embarrassing confessions is that she’s never really learned how to play the guitar. “I can plunk out enough chords to write a song,” she says, “but I’m completely afraid to play guitar in front of other people. It’s a fear of failure, I guess.” She wants to begin taking classes with a guitar teacher. “I’ve started and stopped lessons a million times,” she says, “but I’m less likely to cancel or make other plans if I’ve made the commitment and am paying someone.”
