He may have lost the role of Conan the Barbarian to “Stargate Atlantis” actor Jason Momoa, but “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz has muscled his way into a new role in the romantic comedy “First Love, Then Marriage.”
According to JustJared.com, Kellan will play Mandy Moore’s husband in the rom-com, which also reportedly stars Blythe Danner (a.k.a. Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom) and Christopher Walken. The film centers around Mandy’s marriage counselor character, who after finding out her parents have separated, does all she can to bring them back together, to the detriment of her own new marriage.
The film is being directed by Dermot Mulroney, a man who knows a thing or two about romantic comedies having starred in the Julia Roberts-favorite “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
This role marks Kellan’s first foray into the genre, so we’re curious to see how he fares. He’s stated on several occasions that he wants to be the next big action star, but a role like this is no doubt a great way to diversify his resume. Mandy, on the other hand, isn’t straying too far from her comfort zone having already played a newlywed in “License to Wed” and in real-life, marrying musician Ryan Adams in the spring of 2009.
What do you think about Kellan Lutz starring opposite Mandy Moore in “First Love, Then Marriage”?

Mandy is on the cover of the January 2010 issue of Shape magazine! Here’s the article from Shape.com
This past year was a big one for Mandy Moore: Not only did she get married, she also released her sixth CD and made a romantic comedy. The New Year promises to be even busier for Mandy, 25!
The problem, she says, is that when she’s consumed by her career, she tends to let her health—and even her happiness—fall by the wayside. “I need to be more consistent about taking care of myself no matter how busy I am.”
To accomplish that, she’s come up with a to-do list of changes she’d like to make in 2010 that will help her feel stronger inside and out.
Hit the farmers’ market every week
“I’m going through a phase where I’m kind of bored with food,” says Mandy. “I’m just tired of relying on takeout and restaurants.” To spice things up, Mandy and Ryan want to start eating at home more often. “Ryan is an amazing cook, and there’s a farmers’ market about a mile from our house,” she says. “I love the idea of getting up early on Sundays and walking to the market to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s a good way to start my day, and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something before other people are even awake.”
Actually use my home exercise equipment
For the last year, Mandy has been splitting her workouts between three 45-minute Pilates classes and three 45-minute hikes per week. “I’ve always had bad posture, and Pilates makes me feel taller and reminds me to keep my shoulders back,” she says. “And hiking isn’t just about doing cardio, it’s also when I can get my ‘me time’ to be alone with my thoughts.” This year she’d like to pump up her routines for a more balanced workout each time. “After Pilates I should do some cardio, and after hiking, I need to do some resistance training,” she says. “I have all the equipment in my house, and it’s just collecting dust. So after I get home from Pilates, I’m going to jump on my mini trampoline for 15 minutes. And after a hike, I’ll do some weight lifting or get down on my mat and do a set or two of crunches.”
Step outside my comfort zone
One of Mandy’s most embarrassing confessions is that she’s never really learned how to play the guitar. “I can plunk out enough chords to write a song,” she says, “but I’m completely afraid to play guitar in front of other people. It’s a fear of failure, I guess.” She wants to begin taking classes with a guitar teacher. “I’ve started and stopped lessons a million times,” she says, “but I’m less likely to cancel or make other plans if I’ve made the commitment and am paying someone.”

I’m really psyched to kick off the “Reality Check: What Young Women Don’t Know about Cervical Cancer” campaign during January’s Cervical Health Awareness Month.
I heard a lot of stories from cervical cancer survivors at the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) Race to End Women’s Cancer in DC last November. It made me feel even luckier to be working with GSK and GCF to educate young women like me about cervical cancer and what we can do to help protect ourselves now and for the future.
Like many young women, I didn’t realize that I was at risk for cervical cancer and was surprised to learn that cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women in their twenties and thirties in the US! I also didn’t really know just how important it is to maintain my cervical health–for so many reasons.
I’m determined to help get the word out to young women that we have the power to help protect ourselves from cervical cancer! It’s so important for us to talk to our doctors about how we can protect our cervical health. Women shouldn’t have to suffer from cervical cancer when there are things we can do to help prevent this disease.
